Sleeping Pattern And Atherosclerosis.

 We all know sleep has connection with cardiovascular diseases but the less people know Sleep cycle has been associated with Atherosclerosis. The Research carried by MESA( Multi Ethical Study of Atherosclerosis)  on 2032 men having mean age of 68 years. 

For 7 days , participants underwent assessment of coronary artery Calcium , Carotid plaque presence , Carotid Intima - media thickness and ankle brachial index . Participants with more regular sleep duration is compared with  people having less sleep duration. Results shows that participants with highly more irregular sleep duration were more likely to have high Coronary Artery Calcium burden & abnormal Brachial Index , making them more prone to Atherosclerosis.

So whenever you are going to bed late without any reasons ,remember you are pushing yourself towards major health issues.
